How do we brand your uniform?

It can be nerve racking ordering something new when it’s bespoke and knowing that when it arrives you can’t change it. Particularly when you are ordering it for work and maybe spending a lot of money.

At Impact Trading and Cotton Roots, we appreciate that you want the reassurance that you are going to get exactly what you expect when you order. This is why we have processes that enable you to see everything before we brand your uniform.

Clothing Samples

Whether it be an off the shelf garment or a bespoke item. We can supply you with a sample, or a colour swatch so you know exactly what to expect.

For stock uniform we can send you the samples of the clothing you want to order for you to try on and check for style and quality. We can also send various sizes so you can make sure everyone gets the correct fit. If you are ordering clothing which is Pantone matched to your brand colour, we can send out colour swatches for you to see.

If you are ordering a bespoke item, then we have different options for sampling. For bespoke aprons we will always make a sample, occasionally this has to be in a similar fabric to the one you are having, particularly if it’s a Pantone dyed garment.

If you are having clothing made to order, then we will normally be able to offer a stock sample garment for you to see the style and fit. If it is being Pantone dyed, then you will be given lab dips of the fabric so that you can check you are happy with the colour shade.

Embroidered Logo

If you are having embroidery on your uniform then we will set up the logo and run a sample on fabric similar to the clothing you are having. We will then send it out to you in the post, you can see exactly what the embroidery will look like, the size, colours and quality.

Printed Logo

If you are having your logo printed on your workwear, then we will set up a print proof which is a digital document that gives you a mock up of the clothing you are having with the logo on it. It shows you the approximate size and position so you can check you are happy.

All of these processes are put in place before we go into production and brand your uniform, because we want you to feel comfortable, relaxed and confident that your order will be what you are expecting.

Bespoke Tote Bags

During and after the pandemic we found that many of our hospitality customers, such as restaurants run by well known chefs, specialist food shops and food brands wanted to increase their range and sell branded products. One of the most popular items is a tote bag in a bespoke design which customers can buy as an add on when they have forgotten to bring a bag or maybe buy as a gift. This can be an additional sales opportunity and a way to advertise the brand.

We produce bags for our customers which are Pantone dyed, printed and embroidered. The bags can have an all over design where they are printed before they are made up or printed with a logo afterwards. Straps can be a feature too by using contrast fabric, leather, webbing, pantone dyed and can even have a print on them.

Because the tote bags are bespoke they can be made to any size and can have any strap length. We have previously made bags in a range of styles for customers. Some have been a standard flat tote and we have also made shaped bags with an enveloped gusseted bottom which gives the bag more of a 3d shape. We can also make items like bottle bags, tea towels and couche cloths.

Sommelier Aprons

The Sommelier apron is unique and has been designed to distinguish wine waiters and professional cellar masters or Sommeliers from general waiting staff. The round neck shape is a particular feature, especially created to accommodate a shirt and tie.

A sommelier (pronounced suh.meh.lee.ay) is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, typically working in a fine dining restaurant. Sommeliers are responsible for every aspect of the wine service, starting with the creation of the restaurant wine list and ending with floor service to restaurant.

Did you know that there are different types of sommeliers? They include a beer sommelier, water sommelier, coffee sommelier,milk sommelier, and sake sommelier.

A sommelier is often for the development of wine lists and books and for the delivery of wine service and training for the other restaurant staff. Working along side the culinary team, they match and suggest wines that will best complement each food menu item. This requires a deep knowledge of how food and wine, beer, spirits and other beverages work together with flavours.

A high quality sommelier apron needs to be fit for purpose and beautiful to look at. We can create a high-quality bespoke apron, using practical fabrics and unique details, like leather straps, brass eyelets and contrast stitching.

Uniform Logo Placements

The placement and sizing of a logo on uniform is important for creating the right image for a business or organisation. It needs to look in proportion on the garments, in all sizes. Occasionally, it’s necessary to resize a logo when you have extreme sizes on an order. A good example of this is when you have children’s and adult clothing with the same logo.

When printing or embroidering on sleeves and other small areas you need to be able to get a frame or plate inside the fabric which can dictate the sizing of the logo.

Sometimes we have the opportunity to put branding is more unusual positions. This can draw your eye to the brand as it’s something you are not used to seeing.

Embroidering your Logo

Embroidered logos, branding, slogans on clothing and accessories are absolutely everywhere. It’s only when I started working at Impact Trading I noticed just how much of it was around. Adding a logo to your uniform for your company or organisation is important because it’s a form of brand identity and advertising. It also helps businesses to keep track of their uniforms within the business as staff change.

At Impact Trading we have over 25 years of experience of embroidering garments and gained a great reputation for a high standard of embroidery. The production team showed me how they use a special soluble film on garments that have a particularly loose weave, such as knitted beanie hats, pique polo shirts or other loose knit fabrics. This film sits on top of the fabric and the embroidery runs through it. Once the embroidery is complete, the film is steamed off and the logo is revealed.

One of the unique services we offer is that once an order is placed, the logo is set up and we then run a sample which is sent out to the customer to approve. This means they can see the colours, size and quality of the embroidery before we go into production. Any adjustments can be made at that point which means that the customer is getting exactly what they are expecting.
