Thermal Work Jacket

Rising costs of heating

Over the last few years heating and keep warm has been repeatedly in the headlines and on the news as people struggle to afford heating their homes and workplaces. Many of those people have been looking for alternative ways to keep warm, such as buying thermal underwear, insulating their homes with loft insulation, new windows and turning down the flow temperature on their boilers.

Workplace solutions

Energy costs have also had a huge effect on businesses, and this has led to an increase in costs for their customers. Many companies have been looking for ways to reduce their energy consumption and therefore costs.  From changing equipment which uses much less energy, for example moving from standard or energy saving lightbulbs to LEDs, converting to electric vehicles, or reducing operating hours.

Turning down the temperature

One of the solutions our customers have been look at is providing warmer workwear for staff so that they can turn the heating down. This can be a range of items such as fleeces, hoodies, sweatshirts, gilets, or maybe a thermal work jacket. They often add their branding to these items as a print or embroidery.

Thermal Explained

Thermal clothing is designed to keep the warmth of your body in, removing any moisture such as sweat, whilst keeping the cold out.  Good thermal clothing should be lightweight, comfortable to wear and should have the capability to insulate and regulate the temperature of the body.

Bespoke half apron with pockets.

The classic half apron with pockets is one of our core products. It has been part of our aim to create something unique for our customers. Half aprons are an essential part of any hospitality uniform and can be both a perfect blank canvas for promoting your brand and an essential key garment for front of house catering.

We design our bespoke half apron with pockets individually to meet all our customer’s needs. Our design team carefully source and test all the materials and components.

We only work with quality fabric mills and suppliers, and take great care when choosing fabrics.

One of our tried and tested fabrics is the 100% cotton canvas half panama. The weave has a distinctive 2 weft threads to one warp, giving the fabric a unique look and adding to its durability. It really is the perfect fabric for hard wearing aprons.

We have a wide range of colours to choose from and can also Pantone dye fabric to match your company’s brand colour.

Half Apron with Pockets

The Design Process

The design process for our half aprons starts with the customer’s brief. You can choose the length and width, the size, position and number of pockets you want. You can add details such brass eyelets, studs and a variety of straps.

The ultimate detail to add quality and exclusivity to an apron is leather. This can be incorporated into the straps, which can then be removed for laundering. Brass eyelets and poppers are the perfect features for attaching the leather straps. We can reinforce the apron corners to give extra strength where the eyelets are attached.

The leather is carefully selected to look beautiful and feel soft to wear.  One of our most popular straps are a combination of leather and webbing. This way you get the beauty of leather but the practicality and ease of webbing.

On the half apron with pockets, the pockets are the key feature and are carefully considered and are determined by the wearer’s role. The pocket needs to accommodate all the items that the wearer will need to carry and have access to. The pockets need to be deep enough to safely hold items such has iPad or phones but also separated if items need to be kept in different places.

Final Details

The final stage in the design process of our half aprons is to add our customers branding. We will carefully consider how best to achieve this whilst working alongside our customers brief. This may involve a detailed embroidery, print or a bespoke woven label. All of which can either be large and very visible or subtle and understated.

All our half aprons are hand cut in our production room. The customer’s pattern and design details are carefully recorded and stored for future orders.

We will always produce an initial sample half apron for our customer to approve. This is a key stage in the design process and gives us an opportunity review and amend any details.

The sample stage is also an important point for our customer to receive and get a glimpse of their new design.

It is always great to see the finished results being worn in their new environment!

Heated Work Jackets

With the current high energy prices, many companies are looking for ways to reduce costs in this area.  Providing warm workwear for your staff uniform and slightly lowering the heating in the workplace can make huge savings.

Heat the person rather than the whole room

One of the newest innovations in textiles is the ability to combined heating units within the fabric and items such as heated blankets have been very popular especially with the elderly as they heat the person rather than the whole room.

Warm workwear for outside and large spaces

In the uniform sector we are able to offer heated work jackets and gilets which are particularly suitable for people working outside or in large spaces which are difficult and expensive to heat. The garments contain heat panels which are heated up by battery packs held in a pocket on the garment.

The great benefit of this type of heat is that it’s placed right where it’s needed next to the body and there is minimum heat waste, compared to heating a whole room or building.

Warm workwear for extra layering

If heated work jackets and gilets are not the right option for you we also have a large range of warm workwear for extra layering, which we can supply to businesses, these items can be branded with print or embroidery to add your logo or contact details.

Tips for achieving high-quality embroidered uniforms

When it comes to creating a professional and polished look for your uniforms, workwear or sports club apparel, embroidery is a timeless and elegant choice. Embroidered logos and designs not only add a touch of sophistication but also reflect a sense of pride and unity among your team members. However, achieving high-quality embroidered uniforms requires careful attention to detail and craftsmanship. In this article, we’ll share some valuable tips to help you achieve the best results when using embroidery services for your custom apparel needs.

Start with high-quality artwork

The foundation of any successful embroidery project is the quality of the artwork. Begin with a high-resolution image or vector file of your logo or design. Vector files are preferable as they can be scaled to any size without losing quality.

Thread selection matters

The choice of thread colour and type can significantly impact the appearance of your embroidered design. Consult with us to select the thread that matches your design’s colour scheme and meets your durability requirements. High-quality threads not only look better but also withstand wear and tear, ensuring longevity.

Pay attention to detail

The success of an embroidered design often lies in the details. Ask for recommendations regarding font styles, letter spacing, and the size of small design elements. Attention to detail can make a significant difference in the overall appearance of your uniforms.

Test and approve samples

Before proceeding with a large-scale embroidery project, request a sample of your design on the chosen fabric. This will allow you to assess the quality, colours and placement of the embroidery. It’s easier and less costly to make adjustments at this stage than to correct errors after the entire order is completed.

Choose a reputable embroidery service

Ultimately, the quality of your embroidered uniforms depends on the skill and expertise of the embroidery service provider you choose. Here at Impact Trading, we have a track record of producing high-quality embroidered apparel, and we are happy to collaborate with you to achieve your vision.

Maintenance and care

To ensure the longevity of your embroidered uniforms, it’s crucial to follow proper care instructions. Advise your team members or clients on how to wash and care for their embroidered apparel to prevent damage and maintain the integrity of the design.

Conclusion

Achieving high-quality embroidered uniforms requires attention to every detail, from the initial artwork, the selection of thread and fabric, and the expertise of the embroiderer. By following these tips and partnering with Impact Trading, you can ensure that your uniforms, workwear, or sports club apparel not only look exceptional but also stand the test of time. Elevate your team’s image and create a lasting impression with quality embroidered uniforms.

Why Your Workwear Should Have an Embroidered Logo

Creating a strong brand identity is crucial for success in any business. A logo serves as the visual representation of your brand and can leave a lasting impression on customers. While there are various ways to present your logo, one method that stands out for its timeless appeal and professionalism is embroidery. In this post, we’ll explore why your business should consider getting embroidered clothing and the benefits it can bring to your brand.

Professionalism and Credibility

An embroidered logo adds an element of professionalism and credibility to your business. The three-dimensional texture and intricate details of embroidery create a sense of craftsmanship and attention to detail. This can convey to clients, partners and customers that your business values quality and is dedicated to maintaining a polished image.

Durability and Longevity

Unlike printed logos that may fade over time, an embroidered logo is highly durable. The threads used in embroidery are resilient and resistant to wear and tear. This makes embroidered logos ideal for various applications, such as uniforms, merchandise and promotional items. Regardless as to how your logo is used, it will retain its vibrant appearance for years, ensuring consistent brand representation.

Versatility in Application

Embroidered logos can be applied to a wide range of materials and products. Whether it’s on apparel, bags, hats or even office décor, the versatility of embroidery allows your logo to appear consistently across different touchpoints. This uniformity contributes to reinforcing your brand identity in the minds of your target audience.

Perceived Value and Elegance

The textured and refined appearance of embroidered logos exudes an air of elegance. This perception of higher value can influence how customers perceive your products or services. When a logo is elegantly embroidered on your merchandise or corporate apparel, it can command higher perceived value, which may be reflected in premium price points.

Sense of Unity

For businesses with a team of employees, embroidered clothing creates a sense of unity and belonging. When your team wears the logo with pride, it fosters a strong team spirit and a sense of camaraderie. This can positively impact employee morale, engagement and overall performance.

Timeless Aesthetic

Trends in design and branding come and go, but the classic look of an embroidered logo remains timeless. Whether your business evolves its branding over the years or maintains a consistent identity, an embroidered logo can adapt and continue to represent your brand without appearing outdated.

Attention to Detail

Embroidery allows for intricate detailing that might be lost in other forms of logo application. The careful selection of thread colours, stitching techniques and design placement demonstrates your commitment to every facet of your brand’s image.

Investing in embroidered clothing can yield a range of benefits for your business. Whether you’re a startup or an established brand, this classic approach to logo presentation can be a strategic move toward strengthening your brand identity and leaving a lasting impression on your audience.

Leather Straps on Aprons

We are often asked for artisan style aprons and one feature that is always of interest is the straps. Customers who are looking for something unique and special often love leather, as it’s a great way of adding quality.

The main stumbling block with leather is it cannot easily be cleaned.  You can’t put the leather straps in a washing machine with the aprons, so we wanted to find a way for the straps to be easily removed for laundering.

The flexibility to remove the straps means that they become interchangeable.  As well as solving the laundering issue, it means that you change the look of the apron depending on which straps are attached.

The easiest way to achieve this flexibility is to attach the straps though metal eyelets, using heavy duty metal snap fasteners. At the point where the eyelets and straps are attached, an extra piece of fabric is sewn to reinforce the corner for extra strength. These can also be made into a feature with contrast stitching or fabric. The most popular choice of eyelet and popper is Antique Brass or Nickel.  Buckles can also easily be matched.

When cared for correctly, leather can last much longer than fabric and so this method means that one leather strap can be used for several aprons, therefore making it very economical.

A good intermediate design is to combine leather and webbing. The leather is used for the most visible part of the strap, that attaches to the apron. The webbing is attached to leather to make tying the straps easy and flexible, without the need for buckles. This option can also be less expensive.

Leather and Webbing Straps

We carefully source the best leather, that is both soft to wear against the skin, easy to adjust but very durable. Different colours can be sourced, we certainly don’t have to stick to the traditional browns and blacks.

Our customers love their bespoke aprons with leather straps and frequently return for repeat orders.
